Hi, I’m so glad you’re here!
My path to becoming a doula started long before I even knew what a doula was. Growing up, I had two big dreams: to become a mom and to go to culinary school. Life took me on a journey that combined those experiences in ways I never expected.
When my husband and I moved to Michigan for graduate school, we decided to start our family. The road wasn’t easy—after years of infertility, I finally became pregnant with my daughter. It was an incredible blessing, but being thousands of miles from my family made me anxious about giving birth without my support system.
That’s when I found my “village” in the form of a doula. Her guidance through labor and postpartum changed everything for me. After that experience, I knew I wanted to offer the same support to others. When the chance to train as a doula came along, I jumped in—and never looked back.
Today, I’m CAPPA-trained as a Labor Doula, Postpartum Doula, and Childbirth Educator and just so happened to be a Professional Chef who graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, Napa Valley. My goal is to help you feel confident and cared for as you navigate newborn care, postpartum healing, and the transition into parenthood.

My maiden name is Lark, and I’ve always loved the symbolism of the lark as a joyful, resilient bird. A Lark is also mentioned in a song that deeply resonated with me: “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” Its message—that we find strength and hope even in life’s storms—felt like my story.
Lark’s Nest is about creating a safe, nurturing space for your growing family. My mission is simple: to walk alongside you during this transformative season and remind you—you are never alone.

A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional and physical support to women during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. Doulas do not provide medical care, but they can help women have a positive birth experience by offering comfort measures and advocacy.
As your doula, my role is to provide emotional, physical, and informational support—not medical care. I don’t perform tasks like cervical exams, taking blood pressure, diagnosing conditions, or delivering babies. What I can do is offer evidence-based information and help you feel confident and supported throughout your journey.
If you ever have a medical question or concern, I’ll always encourage you to reach out to your OB-GYN or midwife—they’re the experts in your medical care. My goal is to work alongside your healthcare team to make sure you feel informed, cared for, and never alone.
A birth plan is a written document that outlines your preferences and goals for childbirth. It can include things like pain management, interventions, and postpartum care. Your healthcare provider can help you create a birth plan that is right for you.
